Hebrews 1.2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son,
In verse two the focus of attention begins to transition from God’s communication to the greatest communicator Jesus Christ. In time past God used His creation to communicate to man, but most recently He has spoken through His Son. What does this mean? God had revealed Himself in a new way, in a way far superior to His other revelation. God is clearly and more fully seen through the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the image of the invisible God… the express image of God’s person… the glory as of the only begotten of the Father… image of God. Colossians 1.15; Hebrews 1.3; John 1.14; II Corinthians 4.4
Jesus said, I and my Father are one. John 10.30 What great news for the readers of this book! There is no more guessing about who God is; there is no more confusion about who God is. God is perfectly revealed in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the invisible image of God, in His essence, character, and attributes. This is great news for every generation, including ours. Unfortunately, for whatever reason many people have the wrong perception of who God is. Don’t be dismayed, learn about Christ, get close to Christ, and you will learn who God is! What an awesome thing that Jesus became one of us! Philippians 2.5-8 He is worthy!
