Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11

When was the last time that you worshipped God? If you can’t remember, I encourage you to worship God very soon. The word worship means “to bow down or prostrate oneself.” The idea of worship is to recognize and agree with God that He is superior and He is our Master and King. When we recognize our position in light of who God is, we should humbly submit ourselves to His authority and worship Him. He deserves our worship.

Clearly, Jesus deserves our worship. He has given Himself so that we could have eternal life. We receive much more than we deserve. We are obliged to worship Him because He is our creator. When we do something that we consider important we always look for man’s approval and respect. We are less willing to honor others, and it doesn’t take much for us to become disappointed with God. Our disappointment leads to neglect, and even refusal to  give God the glory and worship He deserves. Yet, even the greatest of our accomplishments (combined) are insignificant compared to what God has made, and what He has done. He is the creator. He is in the process of re-creating His children, and one day will re-create all of His creation. As we recognize God’s work in our life, we must worship Him.

A preacher sang this song and recommended it as a song of worship. I agree.

His Name is Wonderful

His name is wonderful, His name is wonderful,
His name is wonderful, Jesus my Lord.
He is the mighty King, master of everything,
His name is wonderful, Jesus my Lord.
He’s the Great Shephard, The Rock of all ages,
Almighty God is he,
Bow down before Him, Love and adore Him,
His name is wonderful, Jesus my Lord.

Prayer: Create in us a new heart of worship. Open our eyes to our negligence. We know that the angels worship you because they see all of your glory. They see your transforming power in our lives, and they are amazed. Help us to see your glory.
