Day five of seven consecutive days of sharing and encouraging with hymns and spiritual songs.

A few days ago I wrote about a cassette tape that included There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood. The same tape included the song, Nothing Between My Soul and the Savior. I immediately liked the song. Since then, it has always been one of my favorites. Unfortunately most of the versions online are amateur or poor recordings. It took a while to find a version I liked. I settled

This song satisfies my soul. While singing I feel most confident of the reality that there is nothing between my soul and the Savior. And if there is, I make it right. I am reminded of the peace that exists when I am one with my Savior.

For a thorough synopsis: Nothing Between My Soul and the Savior

Nothing between my soul and the Savior,
Naught of this world’s delusive dream;
I have renounced all sinful pleasure;
Jesus is mine, there’s nothing between.
Nothing between my soul and the Savior,
So that His blessed face may be seen;
Nothing preventing the least of His favor,
Keep the way clear! Let nothing between.

Nothing between, like worldly pleasure;
Habits of life, though harmless they seem,
Must not my heart from Him e’er sever;
He is my all, there’s nothing between.

Nothing between, like pride or station;
Self-life or friends shall not intervene;
Though it may cost me much tribulation,
I am resolved; there’s nothing between.

Nothing between, e’en many hard trials,
Though the whole world against me convene;
Watching with prayer and much self-denial,
I’ll triumph at last, with nothing between.

-Charles A. Tindley

A modified arrangement including I Surrender all.
