III. Embody, Personify, and Practice the Love of God/Jesus
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:37-40
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Mark 12: 29-31
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. John 15:12
1. Jesus treated everyone equally
2. He loves everyone with the same love.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. I John 3:16
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Ephesians 5:1,2
Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) Acts 10:34-36
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28
As God’s children and His servants, there is no room in our lives for harsh and cruel behavior, corrupt communication, or unwarranted and arrogant judgment. Without perfect righteousness we cannot judge others, or the motives of others. The Bible tells us that we are all sinners; we are all equal. We have been reminded not to judge another man’s servant, and that all the goodness and talent in our lives are gifts from God. Let us be more friendly and loving towards one another and become the friend that we want to have. Let’s leave righteous judgment to Jesus; He is the only one who can truly see into our hearts and judge perfectly with unbiased judgment.
